Yes, it’s true! At the end of March 2009, the Federal Communications Commission granted a construction permit to Driftless Community Radio, Inc. (DCR). This enables DCR to build and operate a full-power, non-commercial Class A FM radio station. But this is going to be a community effort; we’re going to do it together!
Not only that, but we’ve also reserved a call sign for our new station: W D R T. Read more about the effort here.
Your board of directors has also been planning and preparing to build out the station (hardware, software, and peopleware). Here's our mission statement:
WDRT 91.9FM is a listener supported, non-commercial radio station located in southwest Wisconsin. WDRT educates and entertains listeners by offering a broad mix of programming that reflects the heritage and diversity of the community. WDRT promotes access for members of the public to learn the art of broadcasting and produce original programming.

Welcome to the Driftless! Named for the bio-region of the Upper Mississippi River Valley formed during the Pleistocene Epoch nearly 2 million years ago.
This beautiful area was left unglaciated and ever since has been the scene of constant erosion resulting in a stunning landscape of deeply carved valleys and highly sloping bedrock summits from which the eagles keep a sharp eye on the world below.
